An Introduction to North Wales Holidays

North Wales has many great places to visit as well as wonderful attractions and a wealth of history. The area is home to some of the UK's most stunning scenery in the Snowdonia National Park and the beaches of Anglesey, Prestatyn, and the Llyn Peninsula offer miles of golden sands.

There are many popular locations for a holiday in North Wales. Many choose the regions largest tourist destination, Llandudno which offers two beautiful beaches, an excellent variety of accommodation from hotels to self catering and caravan parks. Llandudno has excellent transport links and is easily reached by road or rail. Many tour operators offer coach holidays to Llandudno and the view from the hotels on the famous promenade are well worth the visit alone.

Other popular holiday destinations in North Wales include Betws-y-Coed in the Conwy valley. This beautiful village acts as a gateway to Snowdonia and is a picturesque postcard setting ideal for walks in the Welsh mountains. The Isle of Anglesey has many wonderful beaches and offers a relaxed setting to get away from it all. The region around Mount Snowdon has a number of small towns and villages that are perfect for exploring the area in greater depth from Porthmadog to Beddgelert and Llanberis. Further south are the coastal resorts of Harlech and Barmouth which offer perfect access to the mountains of southern Snowdonia.
